I had a brilliant evening at the launch of the fabulous new thriller from writing duo Mark Edwards and Louise Voss last week. ‘From the Cradle’ has soared up the charts and just a peek at the blurb gets your heart racing:
The first child was taken from her house.
The second from his mother’s car.
The third from her own bedroom…
When Helen and Sean Phillips go out for the evening, leaving their teenage daughter babysitting little Frankie, they have no idea that they are about to face every parent’s greatest fear.
Detective Inspector Patrick Lennon is hopeful that the three children who have been abducted in this patch of south-west London will be returned safe and well. But when a body is found in a local park, Lennon realizes that time is running out – and that nothing in this case is as it seems…
Mark and Louise made a wonderful speech and there was wine and laughter to go around. Their agent Sam Copeland of RCW was thanked as were the team at Amazon. It was great to be part of the celebration – these two writers are just so LOVELY – and you could feel that others felt the same. Other writers along to celebrate included the ever-cheery Mel Sherratt who had hobbled there in flat shoes (!) after an operation. Wishing ‘From the Cradle’ an enormous amount of success and a huge thank you to Mark Edwards and Louise Voss for inviting me along.
